Tracy Shepard, a 68-year-old retiree from Edgewood, Md., won a hefty $410,835 jackpot last night on a one-dollar Wheel of Fortune® MegaJackpots® machine, a progressive game linked to all three of Delaware’s casinos. Mr. Shepard sat speechless before the winning slot machine for nearly ten minutes as a crowd of casino guests gathered to congratulate him. When the shock began to wear off, Shepard revealed that he would share some of his winnings with his children, take a hunting trip and save the rest. The Mega Jackpot is one of the largest all-cash jackpots in Delaware history and the third-largest winning jackpot paid by Dover Downs Hotel & Casino. All three of the largest jackpots paid at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino were achieved on progressive games, the higher two on Ca$hola™, a penny game linked to casinos in Rhode Island, West Virginia and Delaware. Dover Downs Hotel & Casino’s current Ca$hola jackpot amount has risen to $4.3 million. |
