Emotional Value as the Uniqueness of Luxury PDF Print E-mail
The advantage of gemstones particularly diamonds is their stable value. The price development of Diamonds over the last decade was constant and stable. It depends on carat weight, colour, clarity and cut to measure the price and its growth. “Although every diamond is unique, no diamond is so unusual that it is not quickly turned into a piece of jewellery,” Wolfgang Poschacher (Lex Oppia Sales & Marketing) explains, “the uniqueness lies not within the carat or clarity, but in the feeling that connects you with this one special diamond.” This forward-looking idea of luxury shows resistance in turbulent times.

"Solum Pro Te" (only for you) is the driving force for Lex Oppia, as the founders of Lex Oppia, Wolfgang Poschacher, Helmuth E. Kriese and Gregor Kappacher, have joined together to offer products and services of unique quality, aimed at fulfilling the desires of their individual and select clientele. “Our customers select the lowest carat level of diamond they are willing to accept, so they can feel confident that they receive only quality diamonds, as verified by a local notary. Each stone is certified, allowing us to export the stones from Liberia,” explained joint founder Gregor Kappacher.

The diamonds offered by Lex Oppia are sourced in Africa, Liberia. All diamonds are imported with the respective certificate of origin. Lex Oppia’s diamonds are all prospected especially for each individual customer from a dedicated claim in Liberia. Over a period of maximum six months, the miners in Liberia will work specifically to find raw diamonds for Lex Oppia customers. The preparation and time dedicated to selecting the right diamonds will give the owner a more powerful feeling of love and excitement when the diamond arrives.

Lex Oppia – a name with meaning
Lex Oppia is an ancient law established in Rome in 215BC at the height of the Second Punic War. It restricted not only a woman’s wealth, but also her display of wealth, forbidding any woman to possess more than half an ounce of gold, to wear a multi-coloured garment, or to ride in an animal-drawn vehicle in the city or any town. Lex Oppia launch as proof that this ancient law has become obsolete.

Economic and social responsibility
As well as a responsibility to their customers, the owners have a desire to give something back to the local community. They have set up an NGO in Liberia called “Gem Shining Kids” to assist the workers and their families.

“Through “Gem Shining Kids” we can give financial support to many Liberian families, allowing their children to receive an education,” explains Helmuth E. Kriese. The project is also supported by the customers of Lex Oppia. Each customer will specify the minimum number of carats for each raw diamond, and any diamond found under this specified carat level will be sold by the NGO in Liberia. The money from these sales goes fully towards the “Gem Shining Kids”. “Our dream is that one day we will be able to fund an entire new school.” says Kriese.
