Looking for a special gift? Wine enthusiasts and shoppers who visit the 21 distinctive Wineries of Niagara-on-the-Lake from December 1 through December 21 will have a rare opportunity to sample and buy VQA wines that are only available at the wineries. They will also be able to take advantage of special offers at selected retail partners in the historic old town of Niagara-on-the-Lake. During the 21 Stocking Days of Christmas, presented by the Wineries of Niagara-on-the-Lake, visitors can sample and purchase wines that are sold only at the wineries. Passes are $25 and are available online at www.wineriesofniagaraonthelake.com/stockings, as are overviews of the 21 exceptional wines that the pass enables visitors to sample and buy. Also available online is information about the 21 Stocking Days retail partners and an opportunity to win a weekend getaway package to enjoy during the upcoming Icewine and Jazz celebration in January 2010. “This is an extraordinary opportunity for people to stock-up on unique VQA wines that aren’t available anywhere else,” said Sheri Lockwood, chair of the Wineries of Niagara-on-the-Lake committee. “And, shops in town such as Beau Chapeau and Romance Gallery will welcome shoppers with special offers and great items for holiday gift-giving,” Ms. Lockwood added. The 21 Stocking Days of Christmas is the first event of Niagara-on-the-Lake Winter in Wine Country. During the Icewine and Jazz Celebration throughout January the wineries will welcome visitors eager to hear hot jazz while enjoying the warming icewines on offer. Then, in February, visitors will savor the Days of Wine and Chocolate as they enjoy the special pairing of wine with chocolates made locally.
