Medical Billing Software MPMsoft Selected by eMedical Systems, Inc. as Practice Management Solution PDF Print E-mail
Far removed from the brouha of Washington D.C. is business owner John Wahlquist of eMedicalSystems of Washington state. Author of his own medical billing software for 17 years, Wahlquist recently made the unusual decision to retire his software and move his medical practices over to a new generation of medical billing software made by MPMsoft.

"64 bit processing was looming up ahead and it would have been a complete rewrite for us," says Wahlquist, "I looked at a lot of practice management systems and companies before choosing MPM. They're ahead of the curve on practically every technology point needed by doctors today. It's a change that frees me up to focus on servicing my docs; I’m able to offer cutting edge products like never before."

"Doctors are watching closely what is going on in Washington and are reluctant to invest significant amounts of money in to technology until the dust settles on the health care issue. They are simply inclined to hold on to their aging software systems. We demonstrate that the cost of upgrading now, to a leading-edge solution is a far better business decision than waiting around to see what happens in Washington," says Wahlquist.

For instance, financial incentives for doctors to file electronic prescriptions went into effect January 1, 2009 and start to decline after 2010, yet the majority of small practices haven't implemented ePrescribing. According to Medicare, each year patients experience as many as 530,000 adverse drug events due to negative interactions with other medication or lack of information about a patient's medical history. The e-prescribing initiative is predicted to save Medicare $156 million per year by avoiding adverse drug events.

"Our medical billing software solution enables e-prescribing with an easy to implement subscription service. This single item alone can justify doctors upgrading their software system sooner rather than later," says Wahlquist, "the time to implement is now."
